Satori's alignment focused Vinyasa practice is a flowing sequence of asanas (poses) usually built around the classical Surya Namaskar (sun salutation). A strong connection between breath and movement creates a moving meditation to relax the mind while energizing the body. Classes may be faster or slower paced depending on the instructor. Expect music (sometimes upbeat) to inspire movement and personal power. Props may be used for support. Classes are suitable for all levels, but some yoga experience is helpful.
A slower paced class incorporating internal alignment where poses are held longer to build strength, stamina and flexibility. Props are regularly used to allow the mind and body further and deeper explorations into specific asanas. Both static and dynamic poses build on breathing and relaxation techniques centered on a balanced practice. Learn the fundamentals of standing poses, forward bends, twists. Begin to explore backbends and inversions that help to reset your nervous system, energize and strengthen you. These classes are suitable for all levels.
Restorative yoga uses props (blankets, pillows, blocks, etc.) and techniques that promote relaxation while bringing the body into balance. Among its many benefits, restorative yoga can help rehabilitate injuries, stimulate specific organs, reduce blood pressure and reduce stress hormones. Restorative yoga can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of flexibility or fitness level.
Yin yoga is based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, opposite and complementary principles in nature. In the body, the relatively stiff connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia) are yin, while the more mobile and pliable muscles and blood are yang. A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer.
This invigorating Vinyasa class is designed to help you build strength, sweat and reconnect with your body. Transform your day by taking a break to breathe and work your muscles through a dynamic flow sequence. Upbeat and uplifting music is played throughout class.
This is a great class for beginning and intermediate students as well as those looking to further their understanding of the foundations and subtleties of yoga poses and breathing techniques. Yoga Basics focuses on alignment, adapting poses, working with the breath, and increasing flexibility, strength, and balance. Assistance by way of props may be utilized to allow greater access, opening, and awareness throughout the body, and to allow students of various levels to practice safely and comfortably.
Self-exploration occurs through the discovery and release of physical tension, habitual patterns, and psychological resistance. As individual practice continues, a student's ability to relax and concentrate improves and self-understanding is enhanced.
Find balance, relax and enjoy living in your own and unique body in this slower-paced flow that builds strength and flexibility while learning the fundamentals of standing poses, forward bends, twists and backbends.
