Monique’s approach to both practicing and teaching yoga is therapeutic. She believes that our bodies reflect our unique life experience, living within our tissues and expressed through our habitual patterns – physically, emotionally and mentally. Through our yoga practice, we cultivate inner listening to the intelligence of our bodies. We learn to inhabit ourselves in new ways – finding opening, insight and spaciousness. From this place, we can begin to live our lives from a more authentic place – deeply connected to our essence. Monique’s self-exploration through yoga led her to study Somatic Psychology, and is a practicing Somatic therapist at the Marina Counseling Center. Monique’s classes are informed by the language of Somatics and InnerYoga, through her years of mentorship with Dina Amsterdam.
